SILENCE OF THE SHARKS - December 2015

Did you know? Sharks don't feed on humans. Humans feed on sharks. The official SILENCE OF THE SHARKS video invites you to watch, share and join the campaign to save lives and make a difference!

THE VOICE OF CHILDREN

Children of the world are joining this fascinating and important journey of saving the sharks by drawing the protest banners held underwater during the dive. For this purpose, a competition is held online, inviting all children in all countries and all ages to create their own protest banner and to share it on a dedicated platform established on the SILENCE OF THE SHARKS website.

The winning banners will be printed on waterproof ads and will be carried underwater by the protesting divers.

*  The best drawing of them all was awarding its young creator : Junior Open Water Diver Course completed with a Junior Complete Diving First Aid Course offered by PADI and DAN Europe.

Young Sharks Ambasadors

SILENCE OF THE SHARKS is a unique project which joins hundreds of global organizations to increase awareness of the devastating phenomenon of shark hunting. Worldwide, the entire species of sharks is on the brink of complete extinction due to aggressive hunting for sport, food and other sellable shark product. The consequences of depleting our oceans of one of the sea's greatest and most misunderstood creatures are wide reaching and impact the delicate balance of the marine ecosystems that depend on a natural order between all creatures, great and small.

2015, Posters from the children of Cologne, Germany and Eilat, Israel

SILENCE OF THE SHARKS campaign is a series of underwater protests being held worldwide since December, 2015. Children of the world have joined this campaign by drawing posters held by divers during the protest dives. We now invite all children from all countries and all ages to join the campaign by illustrating the posters to be held by divers during our largest ever protest dive, which will be held in Eilat, Israel, on October 22nd, 2017.
500 divers will come together underwater to raise awareness for this important cause.
* The best drawing of them all will be awarding its young creator and one of his parents with an invitation (flights and accommodation) to participate in the event Sponsor by DAN Europe

CONCLUDING EVENT
2017’s protest dives campaign will conclude with our largest yet festive event, taking place October 19-23, 2017, in Eilat, Israel. This event will unite the many shark conservation organizations worldwide, bringing the danger of shark hunting to the forefront of the global sea conservation agenda.

On October 22nd, 500 divers will join together for a live broadcast protest dive, the largest of its kind (and possibly a Guinness World Record!).

The dive will be held in the memory of Dr. Eugenie Clark, also known as “The Shark Lady” , who began her shark research at the Eilat Bay. We will be honored to include the presence of Dr. Sylvia Earle, (LINK) one of the world’s most famous marine biologists and explorers. During the protest dive Dr. Earle will join our live underwater broadcast and be hosting a live conversation with influential conservation leaders worldwide. We invite you and your family to stay updated with our progress towards the protest dive by following us online (FACEBOOK)
